Epcot Food and Wine Festival 2013

A major childhood dream came true in October….  I traveled to Disney World!!  I spent five nights at the Yacht Club Resort and took in as much magic as I could.  My trip luckily corresponded with the International Food and Wine Festival so I spent three days eating my way around the world.  They give you these cute little passports that get stamped once you eat at a pavilion and you can check off the item you tried.  In the end, I still came up short by 3 pavilions, which just means I’ll have to go back and complete all 30 another year!

Terra Pavilion: Trick’n Chick’n w/ Basmati Rice
Brazil:  Seared Scallop w/ Ragout of Tomatoes, Peppers and Hearts of Palm

Argentina: Beef Empanada

Austraila:  Pavlova w/ Berries & Custard
Mexico: Taco de Rib-Eye w/ Salsa de Chipotle
Singapore:  Lemongrass Chicken Curry w/ Coconut
South Korea:  Lettuce Wrap w/ Pork & Kimchi Slaw

China:  Mongolian Beef in a Steamed Bun, Chicken Potstickers and Lychee Aerated Water

Cheese:  Almond Crusted Blue Cheese Souffle with Fig Jam
Ireland:  Kerrygold Cheese; Reserve Cheddar, Dubliner with Irish Stout and Skellig and a Chilled Irish Coffee w/ Bunratty Potcheen

Africa:  Spinach and Paneer Cheese Pocket
Germany:  Schinkennudeln (Pasta Gratin w/ Ham and Cheese)

Desserts & Champagne: Morello Cherry Pistachio Mousse w/ Moet & Chandon Imperial
 Italy:  Cannoli al Cioccolato

Canada:  Cheddar Cheese Soup
Poland:  Kielbasa & Potato Pierogi w/ Caramelized Onions
Craft Beer:  Leinenkugel’s Seasonal Shandy
Brewers Collection:  BraufactuM Roog Smoked Wheat Beer
Hops and Barley:  Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat
Florida Local:  Florida Orange Groves; Key Limen, Key Lime Wine and Florida White Sangria, Hurricane Class 5 and Florida Orange Groves
Refreshment Port:  Orange Dole Whip
Belgium:  Belgium Waffle w/ Chocolate Ganache

Morocco:  Harissa Chicken Roll
Greece:  Chicken Gyro w/ Tzatziki Sauce

Hawaii:  Kalua Pork Slider with Sweet and Sour Pineapple Chutney and Spicy Mayo
Scotland:  Banoffee Tart w/ Scotch Whisky Toffee

Everything was fabulous but my absolute favorite was the Harissa Chicken Roll in Morocco!  I didn’t make it to Japan, New Zealand or France but one day I will!  I picked up the Food and Wine Cookbook and a few of these recipes are in there, so you can believe I will be making them at home.
